Another Oakwood Employee Arrested, Charged With Abuse

Video will be available shortly

Another employee for the Communities at Oakwood has been arrested.

The indictment came down in October, but it was Friday when police went to Christina Branscum's Eubank home and arrested her.

While working at Oakwood last summer, prosecutors say Branscum abused three residents on four different occasions. Some of the alleged abuse involved pulling residents' hair and putting one resident's head in a toilet and flushing it.

The indictment against Branscum is one of two now being handled by Pulaski County Commonwealth's Attorney Eddy Montgomery prosecutor. About a dozen earlier cases were handled by the state.

The firm managing Oakwood changed several months ago and Montgomery says there hasn't been any new cases of abuse since then. But he says there are several more open investigations and there could be as many as five more indictments returned very shortly.

Branscum is the 16th Oakwood employee to be arrested since 2004.
She will be arraigned on January 18th.
