Suspect Shot And Killed In Police Chase


Police have shot and killed a suspect in Pike County.
Also, investigators say a state trooper was injured in the incident.

Officers were chasing an armed robbery suspect on U-S-23 in Pikeville. Police put down a tire deflation device and when the car stopped, officers say a the driver, Misty A. Damron, surrendered. Then, police tell us the passenger, John Michael Keen failed to comply with officers and reached for a weapon. That's when, police tell us, Kentucky State Trooper Chris Phillips and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Officer Keith Justice opened fire. The suspect died at the scene. Trooper Phillips received minor cuts from broken glass to his forearm during the arrest. He was treated at the scene. The investigation continues.
