A Clay County newspaper reporter says a judge executive tried to choke him right in front of the county's sheriff.
Donnie Thompson, with the Clay County Times, was filing a complaint in the sheriff's office about a threatening voicemail when he says Judge Executive Carl Sizemore tried to choke him.
The sheriff says the men exchanged foul language and Sizemore started shoving Thompson right before the incident.
The sheriff broke the two men apart.
Police believe Sizemore was angry about an article the reporter had written about his son, who is the county dog warden.
At this time, no charges have been filed in the case.
