Neighbors say the conditions were unlivable, but a couple did live in a home where investigators say they found mold, feces, and even dead animals. 27 NEWSFIRST along with county leaders received pictures from inside the home, which prompted an investigation.

The home is in the Moreland community in Lincoln County, where neighbors had to call nuisance control officers and county leaders for help.

Shannon Brown says he's had enough after living more than three years on Water Street in Moreland, just feet from a home he calls filthy.

Investigators say the home belongs to a couple in their 70s, Bobby and Anna Gover. The Red Cross is now helping the couple find another permanent home, as plans to condemn the home and tear it down are underway.

The Lincoln County Health Department is expected to be back out on the property next week. The couple is said to no longer be living in the home.
