Small Explosion At Lexington JIF Plant

The Lexington Fire Department is setting up a meeting with officials at the JIF peanut butter plant to try to figure out why there’s been another small explosion at the factory.

The blast in a silo came early this morning, just weeks after the fire department was called to the plant for a similar situation.Today firefighters spent almost an hour searching for fire after they got a call about the explosion.

They couldn’t find a fire only some light damage. No one was hurt. Some workers were evacuated for a short time, but were later allowed back into the Winchester Road facility.
