Library chief executive fired

The chief executive of Lexington's public libraries has been fired.

The board of directors voted Wednesday night to terminate its contract with Kathleen Imhoff.

Imhoff's contract will end in 30 days, after that, she'll receive no pay or benefits.

Back in April, the Herald Leader detailed more than $134,000 dollars in spending by Imhoff on travel, meals, and gifts over a five year time span.

The majority of the library's budget comes from property taxes in the county.
