UK student wins $896,730 in poker game

ERLANGER, Ky. (AP) - A northern Kentucky man has walked away from the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas a little bit richer.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports that Billy Kopp of Erlanger won $896,730, but missed out on winning millions.

The University of Kentucky student had been the chip leader after Day 6, but then his luck turned.

Kopp and his playing partner, Darvin Moon, flopped diamond flushes and lost a $20 million pot.

Kopp finished 12th, three away from a spot in the finals.
