Car crashes into hydrant in front of school

A night of studying, could be to blame for an accident that took place on Tates Creek Rd. on Friday.

Police arrested Jeremy Young earlier today for leaving the scene of an accident and having no insurance.

Authorities say they were driving and noticed a black Kia coming toward them with heavy front end damage.

That's when they noticed a fire hydrant had been torn down in front of Morton Middle School and there was a bumper in the road, belonging to the car.

Young told police he had been up studying late and had little sleep, and was trying to pick up a parking pass he dropped in his car when he wrecked.

Police do not believe he was impaired.
