Floyd County convenience store robbed at knife-point

ALLEN, KY -- Kentucky State Police out of Pikeville say a Floyd County combined convenience store / service station was robbed at knife-point early Sunday.

KSP Public Relations Officer Mike Goble says Post #9 received a call about 2:52 a.m. from the Double Kwik in Allen, KY reporting it had been robbed by a male subject wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

A worker at the Double Kwik told police the subject entered the store wieldling a knife and demanding money. Police say the subject then fled on foot, with an undetermined amount of cash.

The case is under investigation by KSP Trooper Cassandra Muillins, who was assisted by Troopers Austin Hicks, West Collings, and Sgt. Randy Woods of the Prestonsburg Police Department along with deputies from the Floyd County Sheriff's Department.
