27 SPORTSFIRST has learned UK defensive coordinator Mike Archer is leaving Kentucky. Dave Baker reports Archer is taking the same job at North Carolina State.
Archer agreed to a deal that including incentives will pay him up to half a million dollars a year.
Archer told SPORTSFIRST the decision was tough. He phoned UK head coach Rich Brooks Tuesday evening to inform him he was leaving.
Archer met last week with NC State head coach Tom O’Brien, who Archer has coached with in the past. They spent two years together in Virginia.
