Police: husband and wife worked as burglars

Police say a husband and wife team of burglars picked the wrong homes late Thursday night.

It happened in Mercer County.

Burgin's police chief tells 27 NEWSFIRST Gary and Regina Baker tried breaking into two homes.

At a home on North Court and Ison Streets, police say the new homeowners ran Gary Baker off while he was trying to break into the home while they were inside it.

Later, police say a woman and her niece came home to find Gary Baker in a bedroom of the home on North 1st Street.

He ran away.

Police eventually caught them.

Gary Baker is charged with second-degree burglary.

His wife, Regina Baker, is charged with facilitation to burglary.
