State employee indicted on DVD pirating charges

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A state employee has been indicted after
authorities said she pirated and sold hundreds of DVDs from her

The State Journal reports 52-year-old Cathy Miller of
Lawrenceburg was indicted Wednesday by the Franklin County Grand
Jury on charges of official misconduct and unauthorized
reproduction and distribution of a recorded article.

Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland said Miller was selling
more than 900 films, some still in theaters, for $3 each. She also
used the state e-mail system to advertise her business and would
deliver the DVDs while at work and during lunch.

Miller is a Medicaid services specialist in the Cabinet for
Families and Children with 11 years on the job, a $41,000 salary
and no disciplinary record.
