An injunction, sought by a group of Lexington businesses owners, has been denied.
The group went to court Friday to try and suspend a construction project in on S. Limestone.
Because the injunction was denied, the project can continue as planned.
The group had claimed the city promised them access for deliveries, pedestrian, and other vehicles during the course of the construction at the site. But they say that hasn't happened.
After the ruling, Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry released a statement saying he understands the inconvenience the project is causing, but he vows to continue to work with the businesses in the area.
The mayor says he hopes in the long run, the improvements will help those businesses grow.
