Fort Campbell high school football player dies

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - A 16-year-old Fort Campbell football
player has died after becoming disoriented following practice.

Vanderbilt Children's Hospital spokeswoman Laurie Holloway says
Timothy Williams died at the Nashville hospital Wednesday.

Defense Department schools spokeswoman Cindy Gibson says it's
not yet known why Williams was stricken after Tuesday's practice.
She says the coach noticed Williams was "disoriented," and that
first aid was administered and an ambulance called. Williams was
taken to the post hospital and transferred to Vanderbilt.

Gibson described the practice as "routine" and noted that
temperatures were in the 70s.

Williams would have been a junior when school starts next week
and would have been in his third year with the team.
