Severe thunderstorms have developed across parts of Central Kentucky. Expect more of these to develop through the evening hours.
Lexington Police say a car struck a child just before 8:00 Thursday night on Ward Drive. Friends tell 27 NEWSFIRST, three-year-old David Rodriguez had just bought ice cream from the ice cream truck with his mom, when he was crossing the street and was struck by an oncoming car.
The spot where the child dropped the ice cream could still be seen on the road.
Those who live along Ward Drive say they feared an accident would happen, with an abundance of children living on the street and speedy drivers passing through.
Police say no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
