Just when you thought you were too late to get cash for your clunker, came an announcement that the program would be extended one more day, then another announcement saying it will take us through August 2nd.
The back and forth deadline has kept customers and Lexington sales people confused.
Customers are scrambling to take advantage and at the same time sales people don't want to get penalized for handing out deals that no longer exist.
Either way a lot of customers are trading in their clunkers for $3,500 to $4,500.
Gary Settles, the sales manager at Paul Miller Ford, says in the 30 years he's been selling cars he's never seen so many people in the market for a new car.
Settles says in seven days the auto industry has had 250,000 people get cash for their clunker.
