Police look for woman accused of cashing bogus checks at grocery stores

Police are trying to find a woman who's accused of cashing bogus checks at grocery stores.

Police say the woman struck at stores in two eastern Kentucky counties.

The Save-a-Lot store in West Liberty, in Morgan County, cashed what turned out to be a fraudulent payroll check.

Similar checks were passed at stores in Frenchburg, in Menifee County.

The business listed on the checks is Brentwood Designs, LLC of Salyersville. Police have since determined there is no such business.

Police say the suspect is a woman, around 40 years old, with bleached blonde hair, 6 feet tall, and 170 pounds.

Police are studying surveillance pictures taken at the Save-a-Lot, hoping they provide some leads.
