Lexington man killed while competing in Louisville triathlon

A Lexington man is killed while competing in a triathlon.

It happened this morning in Louisville.

Police say 26-year old Kenneth Yates was drunk when he sped towards hundreds of competitors on their bikes.

Yates hit 47-year old John Carr, throwing him from his bike.

An off duty officer stopped Yates' car, but Yates ran away on foot.

His mother eventually brought him back to the scene.

Carr, who works at Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yates faces multiple charges, including murder and DUI.
