Driver Charged With Murder in Deadly Crash

A car crash Thursday night in Clark County near the Madison County Line takes one life and leaves the driver charged with murder and D.U.I.

Police say Richard Parsons of Lexington was driving drunk on Athens-Boonesboro Road. He ran off the road and went over a cliff falling more than 50 feet.

The passenger in the car died, Parons was hurt.

It took emergency crews more than an hour to rescue him.

They rushed Parons to Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester where he was treated and released. He is now under arrest in Clark County for D.U.I. and murder.

The name of the man who died in the accident after the car went over the ravine has not been released.
