Mentally Disabled Woman Alone With Bag Over Head, Caretaker Arrested

A Lexington woman who cares for a mentally disabled adult is in jail after leaving her home alone.

Police say Maintenance workers at the Sonnet Cove Apartments on Laketower Drive found the 21-year-old woman with a plastic shopping bag over her head.

Police say the woman is severely mentally handicap. She was rushed to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Police arrested the woman’s caretaker. 25-year-old Monique Tetter is charged with knowingly abusing an adult.

Investigators say the woman’s father dropped his daughter off before work. Tetter is supposed to stay with her at all times, but police say the woman was left unattended.

Tetter is expected to be in court later today.
