Fiery Crash Shuts Down I-75

Print

Police shut down northbound I-75 near the Fayette - Scott County line early Monday morning after a fiery crash, but it is back open now.

Police say a semi and a passenger car collided near the 122 milemarker, then caught fire.

Both were rescued by a good samaritain. Kenneth Stuart witnessed the accident and pulled both drivers out of the wreckage and to safety.

A Scott County firefighter was injured while fighting the fire. We're told his injuries are minor.

The semi was carrying frozen chicken fingers.

Lexington Police re-routed traffic onto Iron Works Pike at the 120 milemarker.
