Police confirmed Tuesday they are looking for the remains of a woman who disappeared in 2004 at the bottom of a Laurel County pond. State police began draining the pond Monday.

Tuesday they were back at the scene and confirmed they are looking for Michelle Collins. She disappeared in July, 2004 after leaving a home in the East Bernstadt area of Laurel County. She was 22 years old at the time.

Police say they've received several tips since then, and all of them have involved bodies of water. They say the best tip so far centers around the current pond they're looking at.

Neighbors say they noticed KSP cars and trucks traveling up and down New Salem Road in Laurel County for several weeks.

A trooper is guarding the pond at all times. We're told they hope to have it completely drained by tonight.
