Police are searching for two suspects after they broke into the Midway Mart on Mt. Sterling Road in North Middletown early Tuesday morning. Employees who work there say they've been hit before.
"Came in--- the whole building was destroyed," explained cashier Kim Carter, who arrived seconds after police officers did.
"We've been broke into three times in the last year."
In the surveillance video of the crime, you can see two men walking around inside the store. Then, they flip over a counter and start kicking it trying to find some quick cash.
Employees say they also kicked open the ATM machine, broke the cash register and almost got away withy the unopened safe before they heard police officers outside.
"More destruction than anything," explained Carter.
She says the store owner is already planning to add more security.
"Its upsetting because for somebody like me, I've been here all my life. And I pretty much know all of 'em. And you really hope its somebody who's not from here.... But there are no guarantees."
Carter says luckily nobody was hurt.
Kentucky State Police officers are investigating the crime. If you know anything about the incident, you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 859-253-2020. It is a free call ad you could receive a reward.
