Winchester Police investigate a frightening Tuesday morning find in Clark County.
Police were called to the 500 block of East Broadway at around 5:30 a.m.
Once there, police found a man duct taped.
52-year-old Joe Altman is the victim. Police say he was going out to his car just before 4 a.m. to go to work.
A family friend says he got into his truck and that's when a man dressed in full camoflague hit him in the head with a pistol. Bryan Hall who lives in apartment behind Altman's house says Altman told him when he woke up, he was bound in duct tape without his shoes, jacket and shirt half-ripped off. duct tape covered his eyes, and mouth. His hands were bound behind back & his feet were wrapped together on garage floor in the cold. He was there for at least a few hours before her was discovered.
His wife told Hall that Altman had dropped his keys in the living room floor and that's when she realized he had never left home for work. Hall went to garage to investigate. He found Altman cold & slightly injured.
The suspect got away with about $20 and Altman's 3 bottles prescription pain medication that he carries with him. He recently had hip surgery.
27 NewsFirst also spoke to the neighbor who's backyard backs up to Altman's house. He & another man were taken to the police station right before Noon for questioning; they were not cuffed.
Altman's son, Matt, says his father will be fine. He is recovering at the hospital.
