A full-scale emergency training exercise was held at Blue Grass Airport on Wedensday, with approximately 300 people participating in the exercise.
The training exercise included a simulated aircraft incident, where all airport staff and 15 emergency response agencies participated.
The full-scale training is held once every three years.
The exercise hit close to home for some, as it comes three years after the crash of Comair 5191 that killed 49 people.
But organizers say the exercise can only prepare emergency responders for a real-life disaster.
All flights operated as scheduled.
