A police chase turns violent Friday night in southern Kentucky.
Officers in Somerset tried to stop a man wanted out of Indiana when he took off down the 914 by-pass. Police say the chase reached speeds of close to 100 miles per hour.
Police say they finally cornered the suspect in a parking lot, but didn’t go down easy. Police say the suspect started ramming police cruisers trying to get away.
Up to nine police cruisers from both the Somerset Police Department and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department suffered damage. The early estimates put the damage in the several hundred thousand dollar range.
The suspect had to be taken to the hospital for injures, no police officers were hurt.
