Fire crews called out to fight house fire

A fire so big, extra crews had to be called in to help fight it.

The flames broke out at a home on Douglas Avenue in Versailles Friday afternoon.

Both Versailles City and the Woodford County fire departments had to be brought in.

The homeowner says he and some other people were standing in the carport, when they noticed smoke coming from the home.

No one was injured during the fire.

The family that lives in the home, had lived there for 38 years.

Firefighters say the home is a total loss.

The family think the fire may have started in a bedroom, but they don't know why.

Crews will stay on the scene throughout the night to keep an eye on hot spots.
