A suspect is in custody after police say he broke into a convenience store then tried hiding in the attic.
Lexington Police say the suspect broke into J and D Market on Old Richmond Road.
He tripped the alarm and police responded.
Police say the suspect cut a hole in the drop ceiling once inside and climbed into the attic to hide from police.
Once police were talking to the store's owner, they heard a noise.
The suspect fell and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
His name hasn't been released.
Police say he had loaded a box with cigarettes he planned to steal from the store.
