Farmers anticipate new radar's ability to pinpoint hail

By  |

The new 27 First Alert Defender will have the ability to detect hail size and how much rain will fall out of a storm. Using one-million watts, the new radar will be able to accurately pinpoint where it will fall.

The Kentucky farm industry is completely dependent on the weather. Flooding rains, hails storms, and damaging winds can destroy crops in a matter of seconds.

Steven Greathouse, Lexington farmer, says, "You don't want to see a hail storm any time because it will strip tobacco clean and there will be nothing left."

This new and advanced technology will allow all residents across Central Kentucky to protect their property from inclement weather.
