Haz-Mat Scare Sends Lexington Trucker To Hospital
Lexington Haz Mat Team cleaned up a hazardous spill at the Old Dominion Freight Line off Mercer Rd. That's where fire officials say a chemical spilled inside a truck. Crews worked all day and Friday night trying to determine how much of the corrosive chemical leaked from a 55 gallon drum. Firefighters say the spill was volatile but was contained to the truck. The driver of the rig went to the hospital after he opened the trailer, breathed in the fumes and burned his hand.
