Snakes on the loose in Berea neighborhood

Could some potentially deadly snakes be slithering loose around a busy neighborhood?

Many people in Berea say someone let several copperheads free near a post office and apartment complex on Glades Road.

At least 4 to 5 copperheads were reportedly set free.

An employee at the Berea post office killed one of the snakes in a parking lot earlier this week.

The snake was at least 22 inches long.

Several day care facilities are in the area. One of them tells 27 NEWSFIRST that they are taking extra precautions to keep kids safe while they're outside.

A University of Kentucky website says copperheads are the most common venomous snake in Kentucky. Although their bites are dangerous, they are rarely deadly.
