Homeowner shoots at burglars

A homeowner took the law into his own hands early Monday after burglars hit his garage.

The man living on Embry Avenue, near Versailles Road and The Red Mile, in Lexington says thieves have hit his garage in the past and he was fed up.

This time, he fired a shot with his rife through the garage door.

The burglars ran away. Police don't think anyone was hit since they found no blood at the scene.

Police took a burglary report. They say they also took a wanton endangerment report to the Commonwealth's Attorney to determine if charges will be placed against the homeowner for firing the shot.
