A violent head on crash kills one person and backs up traffic on an interstate for miles.
It happened this morning in the eastbound lanes of I-64 near Mount Sterling.
Police say a pick-up truck crossed the median and hit a semi head-on.
The driver of the pickup was killed instantly.
The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital but not seriously hurt.
Witnesses say they did not see the pickup coming.
The victim was identified late this afternoon, as 51 year old Sylvester Robbins.
Crews say the tanker had been filled with hazardous materials, but was empty at the time of the crash.
