LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Fire has destroyed four horse barns at
the Kentucky State Fair & Exposition Center in Louisville.
There were no horses in the barns and no injuries were reported
in fighting the fire that broke out early Tuesday.
WAVE-TV in Louisville quoted state fair President Harold
Workman, who said it was too early to know the cost of the damage.
The fire broke out only two days after the state fair ended.
Workman said the barns had been full of saddle-bred horses that
were shown Saturday evening. The horses were moved out, most of
them on Sunday.
WHAS radio reports that a passing trucker on Interstate 65 saw
the fire around 2 a.m. and called authorities.
The barns can hold about 1,000 horses.
