A late Tuesday night stabbing sent one man to the hospital and another to jail.
Kentucky State Police were called to Bluestone Road, off Highway 32, in Rowan County.
That is where police found the victim, Michael Ritchie, stabbed multiple times.
Ritchie was taken to U.K. Hospital, where police say he is listed in critical condition.
Police arrested Jason Branham of Winchester. He is charged with first-degree assault and lodged in the Rowan County Jail.
Neighbors say Ritchie and Branham are drinking buddies and had been together since the early evening preparing for a cookout at Ritchie's home this weekend.
"I was expecting this;" explained Gines Trent, Ritchie's neighbor. "I knew something was going to happen. Too much conflict between them when they're drinking."
Branham declined an interview request by 27 NEWSFIRST.
