Timothy Brown told a Scott County judge he admits to being selfish, but says his sister didn't die because of greed.
Brown has admitted to taking his sister Penny's social security checks long after her death. Police found her body in the trunk of Brown's car. Police say the body was so decomposed, they couldn't identify a cause of death.
Brown went on to tell the judge, "The one person most important to me is the one person I'll never be able to say I'm sorry too..."
A psychologist also took the stand today saying Brown has the mental capability of an adolescent.
The judge closed the hearing by sentencing Brown to ten years in prison. But said someone should have stepped in before Penny died.
