Tow truck hits man

A man is recovering after being hit by a tow truck while walking along a road.

The accident happened around two Monday morning, on Richmond Road at Shriners Lane.

Police say 21 year old Alfred Baker and 19 year old Sierra Emrich were walking along the right shoulder of Richmond Road, when Baker was hit.

Police think the driver of the tow truck, Louis Lunsford, became distracted and drifted into the shoulder.

Officers say Baker was thrown at least 30 feet into a tree line.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to UK Hospital. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Emrich suffered minor injuries in the accident.
