A Flood Watch and a Winter Storm Watch are out for the entire region late Tuesday through early Thursday. Heavy rain develops Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and may put down 1”-3” in some areas. Arctic air pushes in from west to east on Wednesday with heavy sleet and snow taking over. That setup could produce several inches of accumulation. Snow will slowly end from west to east Thursday as bitterly cold air continues to push in.
A teenager is recovering after he was shot early Tuesday in Lexington.
Police were called to the Thornton's gas station on North Broadway, near Loudon Avenue, where they found a teen who had been shot in the ankle.
Witnesses say the boy was either 15 or 16 years old.
He was walking with at least two other teens when they were approached by a car full of men, who started shooting, witnesses said.
The teens say the shooters held up gang signs during the incident.
They say their friend will be fine.
The search for suspects continues.
