Two men tried, but failed, early Wednesday to steal a four-wheeler in Scott County.

The men were hauling it on a truck on Boyers Chapel Road in Sadieville when it fell off their truck.

Some other people, driving behind it, got out then tried to help the thieves, without knowing the four-wheeler was stolen.

Police say the good Samaritans then noticed the men were acting strangely, so they held down one thief until he pulled out a knife.

The thieves got away.

If caught, the burglars will face robbery charges.

Does anyone know if they stole a trailor too or just a 4 wheeler because my trailor was stolen last night!

please...yes, if you are acting evasive at the scene of a crime, a good citizen will hold you down until police arrive. If you pull a knife, you have only given further reason for us to do so....

Which is worse? That they were stealing a 4 wheeler, or that if you "act strangely", people in Scott County will hold you down?
