The 20-year-old corporal, Timothy Dale Lewis, from Anderson County died Thursday in the Philippines.

Lewis's mother talked to us 27 NEWSFIRST at her Lawrenceburg home about her son and her concerns.

Corporal Lewis called his mother for Valentines Day from the Philippines while doing humanitarian work with the marines.

His mother missed that called only to get a knock at the front door a day later telling her, her son was dead.

A few months after graduating from Anderson County High School Lewis enlisted.

The 20 year-old never made it to the middle east. He spent time in Asia and started training this week in the Philippians.

All they knew is he collapsed and they didn't know why just yet. Lewis' mother says her son was a healthy young man. He would have turned 21 next month.

The family is expect to find out more about his death tomorrow. His funeral service has not yet been set.
