The man accused of murdering a Lexington firefighter has plead guilty to the charges against him..
Patrick Hutchinson is accused of killing his wife, Fontaine, then firefighter Brenda Cowan, sparking a tense standoff in 2004.
A few weeks ago, commonwealth's attorney Ray Larson reportedly offered a 25 year sentence for a plea deal in the case.
On Monday, Hutchinson entered a guilty plea to two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of assault.
He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Cowan's family attended the hearing and spoke out on what they are feeling following the sentence.
Hutchinson is 50 years old and has been declared mentally ill.
He'll be eligible for parole after serving 85 percent of his sentence.
