Dakota's gone, but other pets remain at shelter

For weeks, they were flooded with calls from around the country, all asking about one dog.

Employees at the Jessamine County Save Center kept getting requests about Dakota, a wolf-dog hybrid sent there, after dragging a newborn baby from his crib.

But now Dakota has a new home, the phones are a lot quieter.

That's why the Save Center wants to remind you that there are plenty of available animals that might make your home complete.

If some of the animals there, aren't adopted, they could be put down.

Officials at the Save shelter say the number of pets they've taken in have increased at least 30% in the past six months.
