Charges Dropped Against AMBER Alert Suspects

By: Jermont Terry Email

Lauren Connors, Michael Pierce and his mother Wendy Pierce-Joyce were all charged with custodial interference, but late Monday afternoon those charges were dropped from court.

But the Commonwealth's Attorney can still present the case to a grand jury.

The three were the center of an AMBER alert last month in Jessamine County. Connors stood accused snatching her daughter out of the arms of a babysitter.

The incident happened at Connor's parent's house in Jessamine County where the grandparents have custody of the girl.

The child was eventually found safe in Lexington.

It's still unclear why the charges were dismissed.
