Police Officer Fired For Misconduct

Video will be available shortly

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The Lexington Urban County Council has voted to fire police officer Joshua Cromer. He's the officer who had been accused of misconduct in the arrest of country singer John Michael Montgomery.

A problem involving postings on the Internet was also considered when the council reached its decision after midnight this morning.

It involved postings on the "MySpace" web page.

Cromer was one of six officers disciplined by the police department for controversial comments posted on the social networking site. In the postings, the officers discussed their jobs, commented on arrests they had made and used derogatory language about gays and mentally disabled people.
