Library Still Fixing Damage from Water Leak

Video will be available shortly

After taking inventory of all the soggy items in the library Wednesday, officials say the news was somewhat better than expected.
Around 24 historical documents had to be sent away to be preserved, but all of them should be salvageable.
But there's still some bad news.
The library lost around 400 books on the fourth floor's non-fiction area, many of them biographies.
Tuesday's leaky pipe was the second major water damage incident in the last six years at the Central Library.
Officials now say this may prompt some new strategies when it comes to waterproofing collections.
The library reopened Wednesday afternoon. But the Kentucky room on the third floor will stay closed until further notice.
