Crockettsville Concert and Trail Ride supported local charity

Updated: Sun 7:51 PM, Sep 09, 2012

The 5th annual Crockettsville Concert and Trail Ride wrapped up Sunday morning September 9th.

The trail ride began by driving through the Buckhorn Children's Center.

It stretched nearly 42 miles long.

Muddy tires and revved engines were a sign of support for the Buckhorn Children's Center.

Kids lined up to cheer for those taking the trail ride.

They shook hands, and held signs to say “thank you” for the contribution each rider made.

Brook Brown attends the center and said she's ready to get back to her cheerleading team.

“We all get along sometimes. Sometimes we have our ups and downs, but we get over it and work together as a team,” said Brown.

Yet, this weekend she went to the Crockettsville festival.

A portion of the proceeds go to the Children’s Center, and helps with major necessities.

“Vans for the kids. Christmases for the kids. School supplies for the kids, a huge number of things,” said Program Clinical Director Richard Word.

The money also gives kids like Brook a chance to grow.

“I learned to talk to people when you’re down, and when you're trying to bottle up things; to talk to people instead of getting angry and lashing out at people,” said Brown.

It was trip on the trails that meant much more to the kids.
