6 Ky. counties chosen for post-election audits

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The six Kentucky counties that will be audited to check for election irregularities have been chosen.

The selection was made Monday in a random drawing. The audits are required by state law and will be conducted by the attorney general's office.

The counties picked are Bath, Bourbon, Bracken, Grayson, Johnson and Lewis. The selection is random and doesn't mean there's any reason to suspect irregularities in those counties.

Attorney General Jack Conway's office says the inquiries will include checking election forms and interviewing county officials.

Conway's office says follow-up investigations are continuing in response to complaints to the Election Fraud Hotline. A total of 235 complaints were received during the General Election, but specifics haven't been released.
