Apology From Man Who Hit And Killed Pedestrian

An emotional day in court during a sentencing hearing for a Lexington man who admitted to hitting and killing another man while driving drunk.

Last month, Timothy Geneve pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Police had originally charged him with murder. They say he was driving drunk when he hit and killed Charles Johnson.

Johnson was walking through the front yard of his sister's home on Patchen Drive when he was hit.

Today in court, Johnson's parents and Geneve took the stand. Geneve apologized to the victim's family, even saying he wished he could trade places with Johnson.

Geneve was sentenced to 10 years in prison, which was the maximum sentence.
