EMS Worker Hurt While Trying to Help Injured Pedestrian

An EMS worker and a pedestrian are recovering Saturday night after being hit by two separate cars at the same intersection.

It happened at Main and Maple Streets in Nicholasville.

Police say a pedestrian crossed the street on a yellow light, instead of waiting for the signal that it was clear to cross. The pedestrian was then hit by a car.

An EMS worker was hit by a second car while trying to help the injured pedestrian.

Both were taken to a hospital, but their conditions were not known Saturday night.
