Homeowner Confronts Burglar During Break-In

A Lexington man confronts another man suspected of breaking into a home in the late night hours. Police say the suspect broke into a house on West Maxwell Street, through the back door.

When the burglar got into the house, police tell us a confrontation began between the burglar and a man inside the home. Police say minutes before the break-in, the man came to the front door of the home and was told to go away.

27 NEWSFIRST was there as police arrested the suspect, 56-year old James Perkins. Police caught up with Perkins near Main and Broadway.

Perkins is charged with second-degree burglary. He'll be in court Monday afternoon.
